Irish Folk Legend and iconic musician Finbar Furey embarks on a national tour following the release of his new album Don’t Stop Me Now
Saturday 13th April 2019
Multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, storyteller and actor Finbar Furey has announced a brand new Irish tour, that will see the iconic musician visit venues across the country. The Irish folk legend, who has left his mark on the music of Ireland for more than four decades as the lead singer and uilleann pipes player for The Fureys, has always been at the forefront of musical change. His long career has also included film and TV appearances, including a singing role in the 2002 Martin Scorsese film ‘Gangs of New York’ as well as the award-winning 2016 film ‘The Wild Goose Lodge’, for which he wrote and played the music.
After 30 years touring the world with his brothers, Finbar embarked on a solo career to pursue a new life as a singer, writer and producer. To coincide with his tour, Finbar’s latest album Paddy Dear will now be released in the UK with two new songs and a bonus Live DVD of Finbar performing at Vicar Street. This new CD/DVD release is newly titled Don’t Stop Me Now.
The line-up for the tour will be Finbar Furey (Vocals, 5-string Banjo, Guitar, Whistle, Uileann pipes), Peter Eades (Piano, Electric Guitar, Strings, Cuatro, Backing Vocals) and Paul O’Driscoll (Double Bass, Backing Vocals).
