So Percussion - The Keyboard Reimagined

Cork Opera House in association with Cork Midsummer Festival presents
So Percussion
Tues 18 Jun

With innovative multi-genre productions, sensational interpretations of modern classics, and an “exhilarating blend of precision and anarchy, rigor and bedlam” (The New Yorker), Sō Percussion has redefined the scope and role of the modern percussion ensemble. Their career now encompasses 16 albums, touring worldwide, a dizzying array of collaborative projects, several ambitious educational programmes, and a steady output of their own music.

"Through a mix of consummate skill and quirky charm, this mercurial quartet has helped to ignite an explosive new enthusiasm for percussion music old and new."

–The New York Times

“The evening was an exhilarating blend of precision and anarchy, rigor and bedlam”

– The New Yorker

The programme The Keyboard Reimagined includes the European premiere of Donnacha Dennehy’s piece, Broken Unison, co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall and Cork Opera House, as well as pieces by Vijay Iver, Suzanne Farrin, Caroline Shaw, Steve Reich, Jason Treuting and Dan Trueman.
