Programming at Half Moon Place

Half Moon Place is more than just a café – with regularly programmed performances and exhibitions occurring in the space.

Cork is a city of performers and Cork Opera House is the proud home of live entertainment in the southern region. With Summer at Half Moon Place, we want to showcase emerging talent in a space that will hopefully become a stepping stone towards stages such as our main auditorium, allowing performers and patrons alike to enjoy performances in a comfortable and intimate space.

Summer at Half Moon Place

On Tuesdays and Fridays from 1-2pm throughout the summer, Cork Opera House presents Summer at Half Moon Place, a free lunchtime concert series presenting both emerging and established artists across a variety of genres.

Summer at Half Moon Place is generously sponsored by EZ Living Interiors and free to attend. Be sure to grab a delicious coffee or a scrumptious sandwich while enjoying some live music in our gorgeous space!

POV emerging creatives' perspectives of Cork

POV emerging creatives’ perspectives of Cork is an exhibition of visual art on display at Half Moon Place café featuring the work of emerging Cork based artists Philip Corkery, Aoife Higgins, Emer Kiely, and Melanie McGrath.

Through contrasting subject matter and unique artistic styles, their work on display at Cork Opera House examines emerging creatives’ perspectives of life in Cork today.

From images of burgeoning home-grown musical talent and playful renderings of beloved Cork landmarks, to works dealing with themes of lost identity and socially engaged explorations of urban space and the cultures within, these pieces collectively highlight the endless ways in which Cork and its inhabitants continue to be a source of inspiration for emerging creative minds.

POV emerging creatives’ perspectives of Cork will hang in Half Moon Place until mid-September. This exhibition is free to visit during Cork Opera House’s usual opening hours.
