This unique series of concerts has become a firm favourite with music lovers and Cork Opera House patrons following a number of hugely popular shows over the last five years.

Celebrating Cork’s rich musical prowess, The Cork Proms mixes much of the best in contemporary and classical favourites, featuring the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra under the baton of some of Ireland’s leading conductors. The Cork Proms is curated by a team led by Cork Opera House CEO and Artistic Director, Eibhlín Gleeson and directed by Davey Kelleher.

Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir at Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral

THIS CONCERT IS TAKING PLACE AT SAINT FIN BARRE’S CATHEDRAL

Ranked in 2020 by BBC Music Magazine as “one of the ten best choirs in the world”, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) perform live at Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork, music by a selection of Estonia’s most celebrated composers; Arvo Pärt, Cyrillus Kreek, and Veljo Tormis.

With an impressive 15 Grammy nominations to their name, this prize-winning ensemble is the foremost interpreter of Pärt’s sacred choral music whose name is synonymous with this exceptional ensemble, and whose work they helped popularise the world over. Such is the popularity of his music, in 2023 it was announced that Pärt is the world’s most performed living composer in the world (according to Bachtrack) after John Williams and John Adams!

Cork Opera House presents The Magic Flute – Abridged and Semi-staged

Cork Opera House presents The Magic Flute, abridged and semi-staged.

With a prince, magical musical instruments and a cheeky bird-catcher journeying through a fabled realm, Mozart’s final operatic masterpiece is a tale of adventure, endurance, passion and revenge.

Conducted by John O’Brien and directed by Davey Kelleher, Cara O’ Sullivan Associate Artists –  Dublin Bass-Baritone Rory Dunne, Wexford Soprano Kelli-Ann Masterson and Clare Tenor, Dean Power – will perform this reimagined classic opera. Joined by a host of Irish and international soloists, the ensemble is accompanied by the Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra.

The concert will run in two halves with a 20-minute interval.

The performance is in German with English surtitles and spoken word.
