Pat and Faye Shortt present Knuckle Down!

Pat and Faye Shortt return to Cork Opera House with their new show “Knuckle Down”. After their sell out tour of “Well”, a collection of mad characters that won over audiences in venues throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. This father and daughter comedy duo have come together once again and are selling out venues across the country with their new show “Knuckle Down”.

“Knuckle Down” shows off the incredible talent of these two performers, as they glide seamlessly from stand up to hilarious characterisation of everyday Irish people. They have the genius of taking everyday ordinary situations and making us laugh at the mundane. Previously described as being indigenously Irish in their approach and observation of characters. The new show “Knuckle Down” doesn’t disappoint.

Characters such as “Michael” (Pat Shortt) the hapless builder (Followed weekly on Tik Tok, X, Insta and Facebook by hundreds of thousands) seems to have the answer to all things that are wrong in the world and shares the advice gifted to him by his late grandmother from Tipperary. Another outrageous character is the “mother of the child” (Faye Shortt) at the school railings waiting to pick up her child PJ, it’s not like her at all to talk bad about anyone but she just can’t help herself, sharing her views on the school principal and her tummy tucking friend back from Turkey.

The sharp wit and physical comedy genius of this comedic duo will have you in pain with laughter.

Dara Ó Briain – Re:Creation

After the huge international success of his last tour, “So, Where Were We?” (173 sold out shows in 20 countries, UK comedy tour of the year 2023), his new show “Re:Creation” sees one of Ireland’s finest ever live comedians back doing his favourite thing: standing in a theatre, telling stories, creating madness with the audience and having fun.

It’s guaranteed to be a very, very, funny night.

Katherine Ryan: Battleaxe 2025

Star of UKTV’s hugely popular new series Parental Guidance as well as Comedy Central’s upcoming Out of Order with Rosie Jones and Judi Love, TV’s beloved Katherine Ryan makes a hugely welcome return to the stage with her brand-new live show, Battleaxe, which will embark on a major Irish, UK and European tour in 2024.

Katherine is the creator and Star of Netflix’s smash hit The Duchess along with two global Netflix comedy specials: In Trouble and Glitter Room as well as 2022’s Missus on Sky / Now TV. She also hosted Backstage With Katherine Ryan for Amazon Prime and starred in Sky’s Romantic Getaway with Romesh Ranganathan. Get your tickets to see a true masterclass in how to enter your Battleaxe era.

Shane Todd – Full House

The host of Tea With Me podcast is fresh off the back of a world tour and a record breaking run of 16 shows at Belfast’s Grand Opera House. Northern Ireland’s (self titled) prince of comedy is returning with a brand new laughter packed show.

‘Full House’ is Shane’s eleventh solo show and promises to be his best yet.

Shane has toured with Tim Dillon, Bill Burr, John Mulaney and comedy megastar Kevin Hart but doesn’t want to go on about it (22 shows).

Milton Jones ‘Ha!milton’

This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it.

He has more important things to discuss. Like giraffes… and there’s a bit about tomatoes.

You might know him from Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo or Radio 4. Or that time he stood for the Scottish National Party, fought a hard campaign, but in the end had to respect the wishes of the people of Cardiff.

A whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense.

WARNING – contains jokes from the start.

Jimmy Carr – Laughs Funny

Jimmy Carr returns to Cork Opera House with his brand-new show Laughs Funny.

Jimmy tells jokes, and jokes are like magnets.
Jokes attract people, but they can also repel.
Some people are repelled by Jimmy’s dark brand of comedy. This show is not for them.
But if it’s the kind of thing you like, then this is the kind of thing you’ll like.

Laughs Funny will be 90 minutes of solid jokes, no interval.
There will be two shows a night, starting at 7pm and 9.30pm.
