The Legend of Luke Kelly – Dubliner

On January 30th 1984 it is said that the whole of Ireland grieved the early death of Dubliner Luke Kelly.

He has left an indelible mark as being the greatest folk artist of the 20th Century and his music is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s cultural treasures.

Created and performed by the renowned Dublin singer and muti-instrumentalist Chris Kavanagh, this show brings the audience on a journey through Luke’s music and has received rave reviews in Ireland and abroad. An overwhelming endorsement of authenticity are the huge amount of followers and regular sell-out performances in Ireland’s most prestigious venues such as Vicar Street, the Grand Opera House and Cork Opera House.

In 2011 Chris was asked by John Sheahan to perform with The Dubliners on their German tour and Luke’s family are still in regular attendance at his Dublin concerts. This exciting show brings to life that unique atmosphere that made Luke so special and it has even been said by countless audience members that his presence can be felt on stage 40 years on.

We’ve Only Just Begun – The Carpenters Celebration Concert 2025

After ten years of continued touring success, Ireland’s most successful tribute show We’ve Only Just Begun The Carpenters Celebration is back.

Toni Lee returns to Cork Opera House in 2025 in a show featuring the timeless music of The Carpenters; Close To You, Superstar, For All We Know, Song For You and Top Of The World, just to mention a few.

Show creator and promoter Pat Egan says:

‘It’s a very unique show, in that every one of the featured 23 songs was a American or British chart hit, not something you see every day’

Toni Lee is utterly unique in that she recreates the voice of Karen Carpenter like no one else alive and it is simply the best Celebration of the Carpenters music to be heard anywhere in the world. The show’s Musical Director and arranger is Eugene McCarthy, a highly experienced musician of over 30 years who has worked with top Irish and international acts.

Legendary British singer-songwriter Ralph McTell will embark on his most extensive tour of Ireland to date in 2025.

As a stalwart of the folk scene for over five decades, McTell’s music continues to resonate with fans of all generations.

With 2025 marking Ralph’s 80th year, this tour represents a milestone not just in his life, but in his extraordinary career. Composer of the Ivor Novello award winning, international hit song ‘Streets of London’, McTell is still passionate about performing and views this tour as a celebration of longevity, artistry, and the continued love for live music.

Reflecting on his upcoming dates, Ralph shares:

“I have been doing shows in Ireland for many years. Firstly in Belfast in 1969 and later in Dublin, eventually getting around the whole country, but it has taken a while to do a national tour. In 2025, I shall be undertaking my biggest and most comprehensive set of dates around Ireland ever. My 2023 tour was hugely enjoyable, and 2025 is going to be a real celebration. I’m looking forward to it already.”

Ceoladh Sheahan – Producer

Ceoladh Sheahan is a multi-award-winning film and television producer. She has worked on Ireland’s biggest television entertainment shows, including IFTA award-winning Room To Improve, Operation Transformation, and Bullyproof. Ceoladh’s film credentials include Róise & Frank, and Oscar-nominated Arracht. She also produced the documentary John Sheahan: A Dubliner which won two IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards).

A musician in her own right, Ceoladh shared the stage with The Dubliners on many occasions. Her rare insight into what it’s like to be part of a Dubliners performance, combined with producing four landmark Dubliners stage shows for television, gives Ceoladh an unparalleled perspective on the musicians and men behind Ireland’s greatest ever folk band.

 

Maurice Sweeney – Writer and Director

Maurice Sweeney is a renowned film and television director with a proven ability to capture the true essence of a story. He directed the award-winning documentary John Sheahan: A Dubliner during which he developed a close working relationship with John and an in-depth understanding of the history and story of the Dubliners.

Maurice’s achievements include directing and co-writing the critically acclaimed feature documentary I Dolours, as well as directing the three-part drama Penance, both of which were acquired by Netflix. He has won five IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards), was awarded Best Director at the London Independent Film Festival, and his film Saving the Titanic won the Gold World Medal for best docudrama at the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards.
