Legendary British singer-songwriter Ralph McTell will embark on his most extensive tour of Ireland to date in 2025.

As a stalwart of the folk scene for over five decades, McTell’s music continues to resonate with fans of all generations.

With 2025 marking Ralph’s 80th year, this tour represents a milestone not just in his life, but in his extraordinary career. Composer of the Ivor Novello award winning, international hit song ‘Streets of London’, McTell is still passionate about performing and views this tour as a celebration of longevity, artistry, and the continued love for live music.

Reflecting on his upcoming dates, Ralph shares:

“I have been doing shows in Ireland for many years. Firstly in Belfast in 1969 and later in Dublin, eventually getting around the whole country, but it has taken a while to do a national tour. In 2025, I shall be undertaking my biggest and most comprehensive set of dates around Ireland ever. My 2023 tour was hugely enjoyable, and 2025 is going to be a real celebration. I’m looking forward to it already.”

‘Time Drift of the Road’ promises to be a moving celebration of both life and song.

Over the course of Joan’s illustrious 3-decade career, she’s made more than considerable strides building her pedigree as a live act.

Performing with and alongside luminaries likeLou Reed, Rufus Wainwright, Damon Albarn, John Cale, Laurie Anderson, Sufjan Stevens, Anohni, Beck, Toshi Reagonand most notably the late Jeff Buckley, who she has affectionately referred to as her soulmate. When not touring and recording, Joan also teaches atNYU’s prestigious Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.

A crowning showcase of Joan’s artistry in all its metamorphic splendor, this new album sees Joan venture deeper into her jazz influences with further affectations associated with electronic and ambient music. Featuring production and instrumentation from an impressivelist of collaborators, the accomplished personnel includes the legendary and GRAMMY-Awardwinning Meshell Ndegeocello on bass, Chris Bruce (Seal, Trevor Horn, Alanis Morisette) on guitar, Daniel Mintseris (St. Vincent, David Byrne, Elvis Costello & The Imposters) on keys, and Parker Kindred (Jeff Buckley,Liam Gallagher) and Otto Hauser alternating on drums.

The Dubliners Encore is directed and produced by award-winning industry creatives Phil Coulter, Ceoladh Sheahan, and Maurice Sweeney. Ceoladh Sheahan – Producer

Ceoladh Sheahan is a multi-award-winning film and television producer. She has worked on Ireland’s biggest television entertainment shows, including IFTA award-winning Room To Improve, Operation Transformation, and Bullyproof. Ceoladh’s film credentials include Róise & Frank, and Oscar-nominated Arracht. She also produced the documentary John Sheahan: A Dubliner which won two IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards).

A musician in her own right, Ceoladh shared the stage with The Dubliners on many occasions. Her rare insight into what it’s like to be part of a Dubliners performance, combined with producing four landmark Dubliners stage shows for television, gives Ceoladh an unparalleled perspective on the musicians and men behind Ireland’s greatest ever folk band.

 

Maurice Sweeney – Writer and Director

Maurice Sweeney is a renowned film and television director with a proven ability to capture the true essence of a story. He directed the award-winning documentary John Sheahan: A Dubliner during which he developed a close working relationship with John and an in-depth understanding of the history and story of the Dubliners.

Maurice’s achievements include directing and co-writing the critically acclaimed feature documentary I Dolours, as well as directing the three-part drama Penance, both of which were acquired by Netflix. He has won five IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards), was awarded Best Director at the London Independent Film Festival, and his film Saving the Titanic won the Gold World Medal for best docudrama at the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards.

Guinness Cork Jazz Festival presents We Almost Lost Detroit – The Music Of Gill Scott Heron w/ Brian Jackson Ensemble, Theo Parrish, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble & Aquilla Sadalla

Brian Jackson:
One-half of the legendary duo Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson, pianist-composer Brian Jackson is widely thought of as one of the forefathers of neo-soul and modern hip hop, prompting New Yorker magazine in a 2022 article to call him “a musical pioneer.” His catalogue has long been a source of sample material for icons such as Tupac, Common and Kendrick Lamar.

Continually choosing to put his music at the service of social and/or political messages, Brian has worked with artists as diverse as Ron Carter, Bobbi Humphrey, Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston Smith and many others.

His album, This Is Brian Jackson (BBE Music), has garnered critical acclaim with spots in Mojo magazine’s “Highest Rated Albums of 2022“ and in The New York Times’ February 2022 playlist. His album 2084 (Montserrat House) is scheduled for release in early 2023. A Master of Fine Arts and an inspiring public speaker, Brian regularly offers masterclasses and workshops stateside and abroad.

 

Theo Parrish:
Theo Parrish is a Chicago-raised DJ, producer, and artist known for his influential work in Detroit’s creative community scene since 1995; he also founded Sound Signature Recordings in 1997 and continues to produce vinyl records with the legendary Archer Record Pressing Co.

Parrish, who has a BFA in sound sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute, continues to engage, challenge, and redefine the limits of Black dance music, serving as an example of creative independence.

 

Hypnotic Brass Ensemble & Aquilla Sadalla:
The 7 Sons of Chicago perform this special show alongside their mother, Aquilla Sadalla. Together, they have toured throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and South America, playing with everyone from Prince and Mos Def to Mick Jones (The Clash) and Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz). They’ve performed at renowned venues such as Coachella, WOMAD AU, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Sydney Opera House, and Carnegie Hall.

Aquilla’s drive and testimony are clearly spiritual in nature and holistic in approach, with no exceptions. She believes that “the music must play the larger role in reclaiming our glory” as a major solution to the life problems that perpetually plague the human spirit, seemingly more now than ever before. Her hard work and commitment to music and motherhood have resulted in a family of brass musicians known to the world today as the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

Guinness Cork Jazz Festival presents The Nasty Sessions with Khakikid, Shiv, Curtisy, F3miii

Bricknasty, led by the masked Fatboy, evolved from a Soundcloud collaboration to a full band with Dara Abdurahman, Korey Thomas, and Louis Younge. Their debut album, INA CRUELER, blended punk-folk, jazz, and RnB, earning critical acclaim and a loyal following. Their upcoming mixtape, XONGZ, marks a shift from introspection to a more experimental and cathartic sound; the mixtape reflects Fatboy’s personal struggles and recovery, incorporating new influences and collaborations while maintaining their signature style.

Curtisy – Tallaght based rapper Curtisy is quickly solidifying his position as one of the leaders of a new wave in Irish hip-hop alongside his collaborators Ahmed, with Love, Rory Sweeney, hiki and more. With inspirations including the likes of Wiki and Earl Sweatshirt, he has carved a niche for himself as an expropriator of vibrant and lush abstract hip hop, with live shows carrying a DIY punk charisma and energy. His debut album WHAT WAS THE QUESTION debuted at #3 on the Official Independent Irish Album Charts. Curtisy takes his debut project on tour this November.

F3miii – F3miii began his journey in a gospel choir and gained recognition with his debut track “Beautiful” on SoundCloud, amassing over 2 million streams on his last three singles; he performed at major festivals like Electric Picnic and Forbidden Fruit and was named a District Magazine Alumni for 2024 and showcased at Ireland Music Week in 2022. He has appeared on over 15 Spotify editorial playlists and was featured on a billboard in Leicester Square, London.

Shiv – Shiv, a Zimbabwean born, Mayo based artist,  transitioned from DJing to becoming a singer-songwriter and producer. Her distinctive sound blends alternative R&B and Lo-Fi Hip Hop, and is influenced by her diverse musical background and early relocation to Ireland. After a viral YouTube video caught Dublin managers’ attention, Shiv’s career took off, leading to over 20 million Spotify streams and collaborations with notable artists. She’s performed with Lana Del Rey, contributed to the *Your Christmas or Mine 2* soundtrack, and played major Irish festivals like Electric Picnic. With her debut album on the horizon, Shiv is set to make a significant mark on the music scene.

KhakiKid – the Irish alt-rapper Abdu Huss, has had an interesting life but only recently realized his story is worth sharing. Growing up in Crumlin council estate, Dublin, he shared a room with three brothers while his two sisters and single mother were in another room. At 12, he began writing raps inspired by Chief Keef. His 2020 debut single “Late” showcased his jazz-infused hip-hop style, and by 2021, he had built a cult following in Ireland and abroad. His debut EP, Elevator Music, released in September 2022, received critical acclaim for its mix of self-deprecating lyrics and energetic rapping. His upcoming music shifts to a more honest and personal approach, reflecting on significant moments he now believes are worth sharing. Abdu also aims to represent minority groups in Ireland, particularly since he only discovered his Arab-Irish heritage and refugee father’s story in adulthood. “Many minority groups aren’t spoken about, and I want to show that we have a place to exist.”

Guinness Cork Jazz Festival presents De La Soul

De La Soul is back in the spotlight, though they never truly vanished. After their influential 1989 debut 3 Feet High and Rising, they  went on to further impact Hip Hop culture with five more groundbreaking albums: De La Soul Is Dead (1991), Buhloone Mindstate (1993), Stakes Is High (1996), Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump (2000) and AOI: Bionix (2001).  Even though their catalogue went missing from streaming services with the rise of the digital age, the trio continued to tour and create music, releasing the Grammy Award-nominated …And The Anonymous Nobody in 2016. With Tommy Boy Music’s acquisition by Reservoir in 2021, De La Soul’s six classic albums have been  available for streaming since March 3, 2023, the 34th anniversary of their debut.

Green Room Jazz – Christine Tobin and Phil Robson

Christine Tobin grew up in Dublin, later moving to London after being awarded a scholarship to attend the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She was an integral part of the London contemporary scene for many years before moving to New York in 2015 where she made a considerable impact on the city’s creative music world. She returned to Ireland in 2020.In March 2023 she released ‘Returning Weather’ her twelfth album under her own name. In 2012 she won a BASCA British Composer Award ( now called the(IVORS) for her settings of poems by WB Yeats, ‘Sailing To Byzantium’. The following year, her arrangements of Leonard Cohen songs won a Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh Festival. In 2014 she was awarded ‘Jazz Vocalist of the Year’ at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Earlier in 2008, she won a BBC Jazz Award for ‘Best Vocalist’. Aside from her own projects, she has worked and recorded with an array of artists including musicians Django Bates, Billy Hart, Julian Joseph, Kenny Wheeler, Mark Turner, Louis Stewart, Martin Hayes, Nigel Kennedy, Jean Toussaint, Francesco Turrisi, Ingrid Jensen, poets Paul Muldoon, Eva Salzman, Don Paterson, actor Gabriel Byrne and film director Mike Figgis. She has played at major festivals and venues around the world.

Phil Robson is a multi-award-winning guitarist & composer, originally from the UK who relocated to New York City in 2015 for five years and is currently based in Ireland. He has led bands featuring jazz legends such as David Liebman, Mark Turner, Billy Hart, James Genus, Marc Copland & many more as well as working as a sideman with Kenny Wheeler, Barbra Streisand, Steve Lacy, Charles Earland, Donny McCaslin, Django Bates, The BBC Big Band, Ingrid Jenson, Phil Woods, Mike Gibbs, Bob Brookmeyer, Steve Wilson and a hugely diverse spectrum of internationally renowned artists. In Europe he is renowned as the co-leader of the cult UK band ‘Partisans’ with saxophonist Julian Siegel which ran for 23 years as well as for his work with his partner, the great singer/songwriter Christine Tobin.

Kat Eaton’s live show is world class, raw and spell-binding.

Having already toured the UK/EU supporting the likes of Jools Holland, Paul Carrack, The Teskey Brothers, Marc Broussard and Mamas Gun, alongside selling out multiple headline shows, co-writing with the likes of Caro Emerald, Ruby Turner and Roberta Campos, and breaking through to new territories via national radio play worldwide (BBC 2, 4 & 6 and Jazz FM in UK plus NPO 1, 2 & 5 in The Netherlands, Radio2 in Belgium and FIP in France), Kat has established herself as one of the hardest working and talented Soul/Jazz/Blues performers in her field.

After the global success debut album ‘Talk To Me’, Kat has just released her heavily anticipated second album, ‘Honestly’. Armed with fresh original material, her own arrangements of songs by Aretha Franklin, Carole King,Ray Charles and Nina Simone and a band behind her that have played with the likes of Tom Jones, Van Morrison, Amy Winehouse and Gregory Porter.
